You’ll find Plate at No. 6 down a cobbled lane in the heart of Windsor, nestled amongst the pubs and boutiques of the old town. We are a tapas restaurant, drawing upon the culinary riches of the Mediterranean Basin; our plates reflect the diversity of cuisines found in Spain, Turkey, France, Morocco, Italy, Greece and Lebanon.

The open kitchen and lime wash walls define the chic, intimate dining space of Plate at No.6. A bespoke plaster fresco by Charles Snell conjures the earthy tones of the Mediterranean coast while accents of gold offset our rustic leather seating.

Our famous Mediterranean warmth and relaxed ambience welcomes work mates and first dates, quiet drinks, and family celebrations.

After many years at the helm of Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, Head Chef Olindo Donadio is delighted to bring modern Mediterranean tapas to Windsor.

A selection of wines and cocktails have been selected by Sicilian sommelier and Italian wine expert Virgilio Gennaro to compliment the fresh, coastal flavours that will revolve around seasonal and local availability. The only thing you’ll find in our freezer will be ice cream.

In respect to the land that nourishes us, Plate at No. 6 supports sustainable practice and supply from our produce to our tables.

The Chefs

Head Chef Olindo Donadio specialises in Italian cuisine and he’s excited to bring a new culinary concept to Windsor. Chef Olindo travelled the length and breadth of the Mediterranean coast on his quest to create a modern Mediterranean menu served in tapas style, perfect for friends and family to share and enjoy.

Working in a variety of kitchens from gastropubs and cruise ships to Michelin-starred establishments and celebrity chef restaurants, Chef Olindo has built his experience as he travelled the world, managing kitchens in Italy, London, Florida, Spain and Singapore.

With a strong focus on sustainability, seasonality and provenance, Chef Olindo will source local produce to celebrate the best of Britain’s seasonal vegetables and high quality meat and seafood.

More than just ingredients

The Mediterranean diet is not just about the ingredients. Hospitality and respect for tradition and nature are just as important as the ingredients you choose.

The way the food is prepared, how it’s grown, cooked and even how it’s eaten plays a big part in the culinary cultures of the Mediterranean basin. Guided by a respect for diversity and cultural exchange, eating together is the foundation of the Mediterranean identity. It’s all about bringing people together of all ages, races and social standing and welcoming them into your space.
